AccountsIQ investing in R&D on new tech
Dublin fintech firm AccountsIQ is setting up an R&D hub to explore new technologies and services.
Chief operating officer Darren Cran said the company, which makes cloud-based accounting software, is looking to develop new features for its clients by leveraging new technologies like artificial intelligence and open banking.
“We’ve got some quite interesting R&D projects that we’re looking at undertaking in the fintech space this year,” he said.
They include FX payments, spend card management and fraud detection.
“They’re slightly more radical innovations, that’s why we’re setting up an R&D hub within the business that will be much more focused on working with groups of beta customers to try and test out beta functionality to see will the things we come up with really get traction.”
